Dear Patients,
We are writing to provide an update on our proposal to move from our current site to a new building that would be part of the Newhouse Farm housing development, down the road from the Mickleover Hotel.
Having listened carefully to our patients we have decided not to progress with this proposal. The proposal has led to concern and worry from many of our patients. We are here to serve our patients and we do not want to cause you concern or worry.
We must stress this was only ever a proposal that was being developed and we had not taken a final decision to move. However, we have decided now not to progress any further with the option of moving to the Newhouse Farm site.
We must also be clear that we still need additional space and improved facilities. We cannot properly meet the needs of the current and future population of this area from our premises as they are now.
We will continue to work together with NHS Derby and Derbyshire on alternative options to meet the needs of patients at Mickleover Surgery and the wider community.
